Senior Software Engineer – Utility Data Collection - CDI - (F/H/X)
Written from the original listing. Read the full description below before applying.
Deepki is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain their data collection platform, ensuring reliable and automated data consumption for clients. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to optimize data pipelines and enhance the overall system architecture.

Deepki — Software Development, headquartered in Paris, Île-de-France.
About Deepki
Founded in 2014, Deepki has developed a SaaS platform for data intelligence in Sustainability that helps investors, property owners, and managers improve the environmental performance of their assets and accelerate their transition to net zero.
The platform is used by major European real estate players (Allianz Real Estate, BNP Paribas Real Estate, AEW, Generali Real Estate, among others) to collect their consumption data, calculate their energy/carbon KPIs, and manage their decarbonization plans.
Our Organization
Deepki's technical team is organized into several product and platform teams, all contributing to accelerating environmental transition and sustainability in real estate. Our technical culture is based on:
- Technical excellence based on solid principles ensuring code quality and development efficiency — our development charter summarizes the principles and best practices we follow daily;
- Collective intelligence capable of experimentation (ideas are hypotheses to test), allowing everyone and the group to progress;
- A pragmatic and value-centered approach that encourages continuous reflection through feedback loops;
- Autonomous and self-organized teams: multidisciplinary, they decide themselves what, who, and how to achieve their objectives.
Your Future Team: Utility Data Collection
Mission: Ensure that consumption data arrives in the platform reliably and automatically, so our clients can calculate their KPIs without thinking about it — from the collection infrastructure to pipeline orchestration, including the configuration of mandates and supplier accounts.
The team covers, in particular:
- Configuration of data sources and permissions — the complete prerequisites before automated collection can start (identification and validation of meters, mandates, supplier accounts);
- Collection system infrastructure — the fundamental collection infrastructure: the scraping framework, parsing engine, routing pipeline, and source prioritization logic, on which all connectors rely;
- Data integration pipeline — transforms the raw collected data into reliable monthly consumption, automatically selecting the best available source for each meter when multiple coexist (automatic reading, invoice, manual entry...)
Important: your team builds the collection system and framework, not the individual connectors — each connector (by supplier or distributor) is developed and operated by the Connectors Operations team, which relies on the standards you define. You may occasionally be called upon to intervene on the most complex connectors.
Utility Data Collection is a Complicated Subsystem team (in the sense of Team Topologies): it carries the expertise and technical complexity of data collection on behalf of all teams that depend on it.
You will join a tight-knit and multidisciplinary team: 3 engineers, a Product Manager, and an Engineering Manager.
Your Role
As a Software Engineer, your role is to combine technical mastery and creativity to meet our clients' needs through the development of our product. At Deepki, the Software Engineer is primarily a results-oriented team player, ready to help others and learn.
Skills
Technical Mastery
- Expert mastery of Python, comfortable with data collection pipelines, parsing, and event-driven architecture (EDA)
- Ability to pragmatically work across multiple architectural paradigms — microservices, monolith, synchronous and asynchronous processing — choosing the appropriate approach for the context rather than by default
- Capable of designing scalable cloud-native solutions for high-volume data collection
- Backend-dominant profile, but comfortable enough with frontend (Vue.js, TypeScript) to contribute occasionally and support other developers on these topics
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design — no need to be an expert, but a genuine interest in learning and applying DDD, as the team engages in its architectural transition
- You appreciate best practices from Xtreme Programming: clean architecture, testing, monitoring, code reviews, CI/CD
Creating Value
- A true problem-solver: you do not just report problems, you propose pragmatic and viable solutions, and you follow through
- True to the core: you get to the essence and correct problems at the root rather than treating symptoms
- Solid experience in identifying, prioritizing, and reducing technical debt over time, without pausing feature delivery
- Experience in maintaining, refactoring, and evolving an existing substantial codebase (rather than building new products from scratch)
- Comfortable with AI-based development assistance tools (coding assistants, LLMs) in your daily practice, capable of experimenting and helping the team upskill on these practices pragmatically — neither AI-maximalist nor AI-skeptic, just well-utilized.
- Solid track record of delivering quality software in fast-paced environments, with large volumes of external and sometimes unstructured data
Collective Spirit
- We firmly believe in empowerment: we trust people who know what needs to be done, and we do not practice micromanagement
- You enjoy sharing your enthusiasm and engaging your colleagues in your initiatives
- You are recognized as a technical reference: you clearly explain your choices and help others progress
- Team spirit (communication, empathy, ability to convince and be convinced by others)
- Curiosity and passion — a desire for continuous improvement
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication skills in French, and professional English (interactions with international stakeholders and technical documentation)
Your Level: Senior
- Technical mastery (optimize): you are capable of working autonomously on any development task within an application or service of the team, delivering code on time while respecting quality, security, and performance criteria.
- Creating value (design): your good knowledge of the product allows you to participate in finding technical solutions to already identified problems while being able to estimate the complexity of the work to be done.
- Team spirit (practice): you proactively support other team members and contribute to their success.
Recruitment Process
- Talent Acquisition Interview: validation of fit with Deepki, soft skills, experience, HR topics
- Engineering Manager Interview: validation of fit for the position, basic technical skills, and learning potential
- Technical Test with the Engineering Team: validation of technical skills, fit with the team, and working method
Technical Environment

- Front: Vue.js v3, TypeScript
- Database: MongoDB, Redis, InfluxDB
- Message Bus: RabbitMQ
- Hosting: AWS (EC2, Fargate/Docker)
- Continuous Deployment: CI/CD (multiple deployments per day)
- DevOps: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes
- AI assistance tools integrated into our development practices (coding assistants, LLMs)
Your Work Environment:
- Large office with a terrace in the heart of Paris (75011)
- Flexibility: hybrid telework or on-site in Paris
- Regular social events: All-Hands, quarterly meetings by department...
- RTT: about ten per year depending on the number of days worked each year
- Restaurant ticket card Swile: €10 per working day (55% covered by Deepki)
- Company health insurance (50% covered by Deepki)
- Reimbursement of 50% of the Navigo pass or the Vélib subscription or Sustainable Mobility Package
- International environment
- Access to various platforms: Edlex (training platform), Wellpass (formerly Gymlib: sports and wellness) and Ekie (legal assistance)
